A “little-box” grocery sprouts from the front of a two-room cottage, in what is now
Central City. The backyard of the dwelling contained a shed, well, cistern, kitchen
building, and two-hole privy. Cheap Groceries was located on Second Street at the
corner of Saint Denis (now Danneel); other boundary streets are Third and Dryades.
