Pietro Gualdi

Italian-born architect, surveyor, and artist Pietro Gualdi painted a male figure into
this Vieux Carre scene of the Café des Colonnes on Saint Louis Street at Exchange
Alley. Nearby were two 3 ˝- story commercial buildings connected by a second-
floor skywalk. Today, the Louisiana Supreme Court Building stands at this site.
