French-born Adrien Persac was best known for his detailed and idealized paintings
of Mississippi River plantations. He also created auction drawings, such as this one
in 1868 that described and advertised two Creole cottages for sale. The properties
were located on Orleans, between Burgundy and Dauphine in the Vieux Carre.
